Afro Delight (Ras Stone)

Afro Delight Show - Ras Stone

Afro Delight started as Jungle Beats between 2007 and 2008 by Ras Stone who wanted to bring together the various music genres with roots from Mama Africa and share the cultural experience.

After 2 years the project was put hold so Ras could concentrate on his son who had been diagnosed with cancer.

The project was resurrected again in 2013 under a different name Afro Delight after Ras got back from Africa with a mad selection of music from the motherland.

The first Afro Delight gig was a success performed with the Audio Mechanics and other guests at Laundry Bar on Cuba street..subsequent gigs had also been successful so the decision was made to start travelling around the country.

The first stop was at Iron Bar in  Auckland with support from DJ Muse and DJ Grassroots....though successful, the decision was made to move on from Iron Bar to the Golden Dawn venue where Afro Delight has been having 3 monthly gigs entertaining the Ponsonby masses for the past few years.

Afro Delight performs at the annual CubaDupa Festival in Wellington, and has also performed at the yearly Auckland City Summer as well as Christchurch and other New Zealand cities and we keep growing from strength to strength.

Keep up to date with where Afro Delight is playing next...It could be a venue near you!
